Tell Me Something I Don’t Know.

So one good thing about having lunch phone duty at work is that I can blog! I finished the work I brought up to the desk with me soooo for the last 5 minutes or so, dedicated to updating.

Anyways, so I finally got a new computer! AND will be getting Internet in the next few days. Huzzah! Which means more posts and pictures and videos (perhaps) since my new laptop has a built in Web cam. Actually, I think I may have already talked about this. Ho hum. I am boring.

It’s Wednesday which means Lost and Life on Mars. And the Top Chef finale. I am routing for Carla. I hope she turns it out! And 24 is two hours next week. Does that mean its going on a hiatus? And also, because I totally watch too much tv and think that Jack Bauer is a real person, when the President made a comment in his address last night about how the U.S. doesn’t torture…my thoughts totally went to JB.

So didn’t have time to finish or post this yesterday. Luckily my modem will be arriving today so I can get that set up and have blogging time at home. Hootit Hoo! And speaking of, I was sooo sad about Carla. She should not have listened to Casey. And instead of Casey I wish that they had gotten Mohawk Dale to come back from that season. And I kind of decided I liked Stephan a wee bit since he was so sweet to Carla.

Anyways, Lost was, well Lost. Locke is back. No shocker there. But I am interested to see how everything plays out. Ben and Charles Widmore are both totally evil. And Micheal Emerson (Ben) owned every scene he was in last night. Emmy pleeeeease.  Life on Mars was perhaps one of the best episodes yet of the show. I need to rent the British Season since I know that the American episodes are loosely based on them.  Loved the art gallery show too. So disturbing and bizarre. Gretchen Mol and Jason O’Mara had great chemistry last night.

Soooo my rainboots are leaking. Typical. I need to get a new pair. I may just invest in some Hunters since they seem to be indestructible. If anyone has any suggestions though, please let me know. My wet socks and I thank you!

Hit me with your best shot…

Sooooo howdy ya’ll. Sorry I’ve been neglectful but was busy and work and had NOW meetings. Anyways, so I hope everyone had a nice V-Day. Mike and I went to see Confessions of a Shopaholic. It was cute. Isla Fisher is great at the part. And Hugh Dancy is a babe! The clothes in it are totally amazing, which prompted me to look into Patricia Fields (well that and AudreyKitching). I want EVERYTHING. Okay well maybe not everything but I love the trashy look she’s doing for 2009. And I want that Barbie purse. I may have to pre-order. It has orange leopard print! And I sort of want the sequin hotpants. However, I have zero use for them. But they are still pretty awesome all the same. Oh and for V-day Mike got me a fabulous purple Coach scarf. And chocolate. And dinner at Shaws.

Sooo haven’t had a ton of time to look into fashion week stuff. I will admit I really like Victoria Beckham’s collection. But it is super pricey. And of course made for stick-insects. But still, really nice pieces. So hopefully I can look at a recap soon and post some pics of my favorite collections.

So I finally got a new computer! I’m not on it at the moment though since I am still at work and also because I don’t technically (legally) have Internet yet. So once I take care of that, expect more pics and some videos due to the computer having a built in Web cam! Woo!

Lost, Life on Mars, and Thai food tonight. And cleaning. The tile men left a trail of tile dust on their way in and out. Yuck.

Gimme those bright lights…

Happy Friday the 13th! And almost V-Day! Hopefully within the next two weeks everyone can go and see some sort of production of the Vagina Monologues! I am maybe going next weekend to the afternoon performance at the Belmont Theatre Building. Normally I am indifferent about Valentine’s Day but this is the first year in like a bajillion years that I have a significant other. So sue me. I’m sure that the novelty will wear off eventually.

Anyways…so aside from my excitement of getting roses at work from my boy…I just found out that Alexander McQueen is doing a line for Target. The stuff is amazing. Totally 80s funky-weird-glam. I want the grey studded jacket. So great.

So funny story about why I love my friends that watch just as much television as I do. So those of you who watch Lost will find this funny. My friend Jenna just e-mailed to let me and some others know that she had a bloody nose this morning! OMG do you think she is time jumping at her office? Don’t worry though, Stacy will most-likely be her constant.

Oh and CO Bigelow is launching a new skincare line (lots of acai berry stuff) and are giving free samples away until Tuesday. So just incase you are near by one…go get some free stuff.

Tonight is hot pink nails, face mask, pizza, and reading Dexter.

Music on my iPod: Last Name (Carrie Underwood), The Fame (Lady GaGa), You Found Me (The Frey), Lookin’ for a Good Time (Lady Antebellum), Kids (MGMT), and Duffy’s entire album Rockferry.

Ghost in the Machine

Bonjour! So today was the early launch of the Hello Kitty line for MAC. I got a lip conditioner (like lip gloss) in pink fish. The container is so cute. They have “Wild Kitty” and “Mild Kitty” lines and everything is so fun and fresh, and yes, for adults thankyouverymuch. I also really like their Dame Edna line, which I think is done with. Anyways, go check out the HK stuff either online or at your nearest Nordys and Macy’s.

Anywho, so I am off to my book club in a bit. We read the book Nefertiti by Michelle Moran. It was really good. I recommend it. It’s historical fiction about Nefertiti but told by the point of view of her sister, Mutny.  I learned a lot about Egyptian history too. But for food, we are doing Mediterranean. Yum!

I just started the first book in the Dexter trilogy (yes folks the series is based on a set of three books). I have never seen the show but am excited to after I read. The book so far is so good. I love the way the writer writes and paints the picture. Like within the first 10 pages I wanted to be Dexter’s best friend haha. Well not really, but I love that you want to hate him because of what he does, but you just can’t help but liking him. After that I hope to read the other two and then move on to Scarlett, the “sequel” to Gone With The Wind. It was written by someone who was approved by Margaret Mitchell’s estate and I have heard good things about it.  Also, in between Dexter I have been reading my grandmother’s journal. It is so interesting and starts in 1936! How crazy is that!

I will write more about it tomorrow cuz I gotta go.

Newest obsession: Alexander McQueen scarves. I want a skull one in every color.

Don’t spend all your money on syrup and honey…

So I am trying things out with the new headers. Not completely sold on the one I have at the moment. I wish I was tech enough to actually figure out how to write something in it. Can anyone with way better Web sense then me let me know how to do that? Thanks! :)

So yet again, for their spring line, Coach has debuted an amazing line of purses and coats. Last year I wanted the off-white with the colored plaid (which, BTW was feature on Gossip Girl once on mean girl Penelope). This year, behold my I-wish-I-could-afford-you spring coat. I mean really, its only $600!

Anyways, I think if you can click on it, you can see the detailing better. But it is oh so pretty and springy. So instead, I may just buy a Coach scarf (the black with all the colored C’s) or nothing at all. Or check out the high-end resale shop McShane’s and see if they have anything. I’m all about saving people, I know. It’s hard to believe.

So on to a brief update on tv…um, not going to ruin it for anyone just yet, but how amazing were the last 10 minutes of Lost this past Wednesday? I squeed in delight! I love when the show features the island folk. And clearly, the show’s title “The Little Prince” (Le Petit Prince) is very important and probably has something to do with “golden-haired” Aaron or Charlie Hulme. And I was proud that I actually figured out the title in relation to the show without help from anyone else! Go me! Remember when The Little Prince became a cartoon on Nickolodean? And he kept his “Rose” under a jar so he wouldn’t lose her?

Right soooo music in my rotation today: First Day of My Life (Bright Eyes), Top of the World (Pussycat Dolls), I Don’t Always Know What You’re Saying (Ladyhawk), Blood Bank (Bon Iver), Any Fun (Coconut Records), Dawn of the Dead (Does It Offend You,…Yeah), Electric Feel (MGMT),  and The World Should Revolve Around Me (Little Jackie).

Its unseasonably warm out today…and will be for the next few days. Bring on the rain to wash away the snow and ice! I normally love me some snow, but it gets soooo dirty and gross in the city. Like gross slush and ice everywhere.

Actually going out tonight! Pizza, wings, beer, and good times!

There’s a lot that I don’t know…there’s a lot that I’m still learning…

So count me out of those people who actually liked last night’s episode of Gossip Girl.  Firstly, the teacher-student hook up is soooo Dawson’s Creek circa 1997. haha And also, would have been better if she was older, oh wait, they did the older woman hook up with Nate already. Plus, I’m not even a teacher, and I was offended at the way they portrayed teachers. I mean what teacher meets their students outside of school and gives them their home address? Um, no. Meet your students during office hours at school, don’t complain to other students about how much rich kids suck, don’t then also complain to the same student about how you have no friends in the city, and then proceed to sleep with said student even though you have no idea that he broke up with his girlfriend, and that you will get your job back in 5 seconds. Also, Blair’s scheme was just dumb and mean and the actual Blair of last season would not have done that. Sigh. Also, I know a HUGE spoiler but won’t reveal it. But am sort of interested to see how it plays out.

Right. So tonight after I run a quick errand at FedEx Kinkos, I plan on going home and throwing myself a little dance party. I’m going to download new songs shortly. And add some to my already awesomely awesome playlist.

So I didn’t end up watching any of HIMYM Season 2 this past weekend. And why? Well, the specialty video by my apartment doesn’t have it and isn’t planning to get it in. Yeah. Which is weird and dumb because they have the Wonder Woman Series on dvd as well as Freaks and Greeks, which hello, Jason Segal. And also, it’s Boystown, don’t they heart Neil Patrick Harris? However, while I was there I did realize I need to rent The Wackness sometime soon. However, this weekend at some point between finishing the book for my book club and cleaning, I plan on watching New York Stories.

Uh so yeah. My rant of the day. Stop shopping at American Appearel. Before when I just thought that the owner was a misogynistic perv, I could kind of feel okay about shopping there with the whole “made in the US” thing. However, after reading an article/interview with him and his comments regarding domestic violence and women, I am thoroughly disgusted. And don’t feel the need to ever shop there. Plus I am on a thift, second-hand, vintage kick. Which, does anyone know who lives in Chicago, if Hollywood Mirror is closing? I saw that they had a huge “everything on sale” sign. But when I went to check it out, the door was locked (do they close at 8pm?) so maybe I will see what the deal is today. Their used stuff is usually pricey, but maybe the sale will be good! Plus they have some cute crap there, such as sushi pillows, which I sort of think I need. I heart kitsch.
