I’m going to write you up for not working…

Yay! The debates are for sure on tonight! I need to tape them, like I said in an earlier post, but will watch them over the weekend.

Anywho, so on to last night’s television shows. I watched Ugly Betty and The Office. And read about what happened on Grey’s. I wonder what sort of “Mc” name the new guy will get. Because you know that will happen. And an icicle? Really? So yeah, didn’t love UB or TO. But they both had their moments. Was squeeeeing with delight when Jim proposed to Pam. Celeste (the mother of the little girl I babysit for) had just gotten home and was in the hallway screaming don’t tell me don’t tell me as I was screaming, jumping around, and clapping my hands! Also, I can’t decide if I like Holly or not. I think, though, that Amy Ryan is doing a great job as portraying, what I think is suppossed to be the female version of Michael. Also, love Ryan back as the temp. Answering phones. With his blue tooth. And pretending to applogize but really is coming up with some diabolical plan to get everyone back.

As for Betty…not enough Marc and Amanda. Or Christina. I hate when Daniel isn’t at Mode although loved Players and Betty finally laughing at herself. Although I hope Daniel yelled at his son for that! Spraying silly string into one’s goggles while on a motorcycle is not okay. Loved Hilda though. “I’m wearing the big ring.” Lindsay Lohan was alright. I wonder what sort of role she will take on in other episodes. And also, next week? Betty Slater…with Willi’s HAIR. Love. I hope next week there is more of the UB awesomeness that got me into the show to begin with.

Still haven’t watched Fringe. That’s on my agenda for the weekend. Along with the debates, Tapas with Mike, and my 10-year high school reunion. Ah! Will be crazy. Although most people have a Facebook and/or MySpace, so I know what a lot of people are up too. Can’t wait to debut my fierce bracelet. Although I may rock it out tonight for dinner.

xoxo

I shopped for purses when I walked through the door…

So I really want leopard print ballet flats. I checked at Forever 21 and they have them online, just not in stores yet. They are like $12. What I really want are the Tory Burch leopard print flats. So I thought I would check on eBay. And they are there. In my size. FOR MORE MONEY THAN THEY ACTUALLY COST. Seriously. They retail for $225. And are actually on sale on her Web site for $168…but only in a size 5. And I have small feet but not that small. Anyways, the pair I found on eBay are $245 plus shipping. I still plan on just getting a cheapy pair somewhere. I think at some point this fall I will check out those random stores along Belmont right by the Belmont L stop. Usually they have pretty cheap shoes.

Tapas with Mike tonight. Yum.

Ten-year high school reunion tomorrow night.

And hopefully starting the second Twilight book at some point.

Nose Jobs and Champagne

So did anyone else get a little teary-eyed when Isis was sent a-packing on Models last night? Because I did. Aside from Tyra’s idiotic speech, I really do that that Isis is a great role model for the LGBTQ community, namely post- and pre-op transgendered individuals. I loved her and still think that once she gets her confidence back, she will be an amazing model. However, I do think she needs to tone down those giant earrings. Not a good look IMO. I mean I am all for accessorizing, but those things were going to eat her head! I thought she looked really pretty in the Seventeen Magazine shoot she got to do. And furthermore, I think that Lauren Brie’s photo should have been called first. Girl looks like any other blonde mall rat in person but damn does she take a fieeeeerce picture. But she looks too much like Caridee, so well that doesn’t bode well for her. Oh and poor Samantha. I don’t think she intentionally posed like she did at the end of the runway or tried to look strippery. Jeremy Scott needed to take it down a notch. I mean I love his designs (well some of them) but yeah, he was a wee bit harsh. If he had such an issue then she should have been cut after the runway and not Hannah. But oh well. Also, loved seeing what Chantal was up too. She was my favorite during that cycle. Anyways, these are my favorite pictures from last night. Just a POI, I also loved Sheena’s photo, but for some reason she isn’t up on the ANTM Web site. Weird.

I succumbed to inebriation, performed in a speakeasy, and surrendered my virtue to a self-absorbed pig.

New Ugly Betty and The Office tonight! Woo! I have missed the folks at Dunder-Miflin and Mode Magazine. Can’t wait for the dynamic duo of Marc and Amanda to grace my screen again.

Anyways, so it appears that the debates are for sure back on tomorrow night. I wonder if they will end up being in D.C. instead of Mississippi? Either way, I plan on Tivoing them and then watching them Saturday in private so I can yell at my tv and such. I am sure my neighbors think I’m crazy. Between the yelling at politicians when they speak (coughSarahPalincough) or yelling at the Cubs when they are winning by like 8 and end up tying the game or singing songs from musicals at the top of my lungs, I’m pretty ure they think I’m crazy. But really, next time you are cleaning your house or apartment, start singing show tunes. Its SO FUN. Usually I sing songs from Legally Blonde, which is ending really on the great white way due to low ticket sales, but Rent also is fun to sing. As are songs from Spring Awakening. And once I learn the words to Xanadu, oh you better believe I am seranating my neighbors with that one!

Right so, I think I am going to get into accessories. Like over accessorizing. I think that will be my new thing. Am I too old for that? Well in any case, I think I will debut my signature look of tons of cute bracelots (normal on one, chunky on the other) at my HS reunion (10 years!) this weekend. Yeeeeah I need to stop obsessing about my outfit and how I look and remember that I am already fabulous the way I am. Yee haw!

You need to create a monster to bring down a queen…

So I am sure that most of you have read that Lynne Spears feels that it wasn’t fair that Jamie-Lynn was crucified for being a teenage mom while Bristol Palin and Sarah Palin were glorified. And I am fully on Team Spears for this one. And not just because Sarah Palin makes me ill. But Lynne is right. They should be both be treated the same. And that also means chastising them for not using protection and such. And the parents for, I don’t know, slashing funding for high school sex ed programs that would maybe teach their daughters that drinking a diet coke after sex is NOT a way to not get pregnant. Or in Jamie-Lynn’s case, maybe getting home schooled on the set of Zoey 101 was perhaps not the smartest idea. Anyways…moving on…

I got my J.Star ‘Fierce’ bracelot today! It’s awesome! I plan on wearing it to my reunion this weekend. And I don’t care if people make fun of me. I am fierce. And have always been! :) Also, I am still debating getting extensions.

So neeeeew tv this week and next! Heroes was newand so confusing on Monday. Like seriously…what.the.hell. I feel like Mohinder’s character is slowly becoming a “mad scientist” of sorts. And I’m not sure I like it. I wish they would give Kristen Bell more to do…maybe work with Peter’s character, but the character he is trapped in since it’s Frances Capra, another Veronica Mars alum. But other than that, I spent most of the episode pausing it and asking myself questions only to realize that I was more confused than ever.

As for Gossip Girl, I am interested to see how the “Queen Serena” storyline will unfold. I just want Blair and Serena to remain friends through all of it. And I want to know what Chuck’s plan is for Blair. Does he want her to come to him so they can take Serena down? Does he think she will come to him because she is alone now that Serena is queen? Oh so many questions. And sorry, but I think that Chace Crawford is so yummy. I hear he is dating Drew Barrymore. So luckily she is. hahah

So the song that everyone needs to go and download right now…Beautiful Dirty Rich by Lady GaGa. Fantastic. I can’t get enough. When I was listening to it on the bus on my way home from work the other day I wanted to get up and start dancing.

Heart-Shaped Bruises for Both of Us

I am pretty sure this will be me when I am 92.

From: Black Book Magazine

The Late Bloomer: Zelda Kaplan, nightlife legend, photographed at Bungalow 8, New York City.
Zelda Kaplan, 92, sits tucked away in a booth at the back of Bungalow 8, one of her favorite New York City haunts, sipping from a champagne flute. Scheduling an appointment with her days earlier came with the following caveat: “Remember, sweetie, don’t call until four or five in the afternoon. Otherwise, I’ll still be in bed.” A trained ballroom dancer, the twice-married humanitarian has traveled throughout Ethiopia to raise awareness about female genital mutilation (“It’s excision, not circumcision,” she says). These days, she saunters about town at all hours of the morning, wearing that cylindrical hat of hers, draped in rich fabrics she discovered while touring Africa. “I like to go out,” she says, her sharp eyes shielded by sunglasses. “I like to be with nice people, although not the types who get sloppy, sloppy drunk.” She remembers, after the loss of her second husband, “going home at night and thinking, My gosh, this is so boring! But how could I possibly go out without an escort? And then one night, I went to Bungalow 8. There were people in line, but I was let right in. I went straight to the bar. To take up a table by oneself is awful, and besides, I wanted to talk to people.” Which is precisely what she did, forming a core group of friends, many of whom could pass as her great-grandchildren. And that’s just fine with Kaplan, who has little patience when her few remaining nonagenarian peers complain about rheumatoid arthritis. “After two or three minutes, I’m like, Whatever,” she say, smiling. The club scene, of course, has changed drastically since Kaplan first hit the dance floor, and she’s the first to notice: “Women today, these girls, present their fannies to men by bending over at the bar. And the men, they come up close behind them, you know, moving. I’ve presented myself to men like that before, but never in public.”

On a different note…so excited for new Ugly Betty and The Office tomorrow. Still not so sure how I feel about 90210. More Brenda please!

You Really Like Me

The Emmys. I thought everyone, for the most part, looked amazing. The way they hosted it? Um, not so much. Can we bring back Ellen please? Or at least Ryan Seacrest would have been okay. Didn’t he host last year? Anyways, my favorite moments were Don Rickles and then Betty White/Mary Tyler Moore. More legendary comedians to present please. And Keifer Sutherland looked devine. He can really clean up.  Loved him naming all the nominees in his Jack Bauer voice. I am sad that Michael Emerson (Ben Linus, Lost) didn’t win best supporting actor in a drama. He is all kinds of awesome on that show. But I was really happy for Tina Fey. She seems like such a great woman. I don’t really watch 30Rock, but I know that tons of people love the show. And say what you will about Alac Baldwin and his shady personal life, but the guy can act and is hilarious. And poked fun at himself. Oh, and Jean Smart looked phenom. LOVED her and Christina Applegate’s little exchange when Jean won her award. You can tell they really love each other. I have seen Samantha Who? a few times and it’s really funny. Christina Applegate is really great at that role.

I have to get some stuff done…so will either add pictures of my best dressed later today or tomorrow.

So far my list is: Kate Walsh, Cynthia Nixon (I thought she looked great even if her dress was plain), Sally Field, Christina Applegate, Sandra Oh, Jean Smart, Julia Louis-Dryfus…more TK!

Who let the dogs out…

Sorry I have been delinquent in posting these last few days. I have been busy with NOW stuff, and working, and reading about all those “scene queens,” (sorry can’t think of a better term) I am newly obsessed with. Oh and downloading Jeffree Star music. And contemplating which Jac Vanek bracelets to get. I think I’m going to get peace and Obama. And then get this one from J-Star. And of course some for my sister as well.

Anyways, so I finally watched Fringe from Tuesday…it was a very unusual episode to say the least. And of course, because it’s a JJ Abrams show and there can never be just a show with him and his people, there is a new Fringe site dedicated to the Fringe “easter eggs.” So, once Lost starts in February, I will never get anything done since I will be on Lostpedia and the new Fringe site.  Oy. And it will now take me longer than normal to watch an episode because I will be on the look out for little hidden messages and pause my screen every 5 seconds like I do when I watch Lost. Oh JJ.

So I need to hurry and finish the current book I am reading so I can get on to the second Twilight series book. I am so behind! Or I may start it and then come back to my other book. But I hate doing that. Oh and the Unabridged Book Store on Broadway totally has free Twilight stickers. Awesome. I got some for me, Melissa, and Shayne.  Good stuff. I need to figure out where to put my “Bella & Edward 4 Ever” sticker. Although even after reading only the first book, I am totally Team Jacob. Haha

This weekend I think I am going to run errands in some sort of cute dress, my new seude knee (flat) boots, and my heart-shaped sunglasses.  And probably stop into my favorite thrift store: Land of the Lost. I need to see if that awesome Michael Jackson shirt is still there. Hopefully!

My top songs of the moment: Ex-Boyfriend Syndrome (Charlotte Sometimes), Eyelash Curlers and Butcher Knives (Jeffree Star), and Guilty Pleasure (Cobra Starship)

You better Work…

I love Elina on Top Models. Although I would have cried too if they gave me Carrot Top’s hair. But she rocked it. And her photo and Lauren Brie’s was gorgeous.

Elina.

Lauren Brie.

So I am thinking about moving this blog over to Buzznet. I feel like I may get more readers. However, I am not actually sure how to move archived blogs over. Hmmm I will look into it.

Plus, I TOTALLY am a buzz maker. Plus, if all those scene-y 19-year-old girls with pink hair and piercings can be Internet-famous then so can this 28-year-old, brown-haired, feminist and self-proclaimed pop culture whore. Yo.

Yeah, what about it?

Gossip Girl was so good last night! I floved it. And Blair’s yellow dress. And the steamy scene with Chuck and Blair. And Blair. And Jenny and Mrs. Waldorf. Also, I loved those random girls that came up to Dan and Serena in the park. Totally random and weird and creepy but also really funny.

And Fringe? I really liked it! I was reading mixed reviews, but from what I can gather, everyone LOVES Pacey, I mean Peter. Whatever, he is forever Pacey to me. Joshua Jackson sure got better with age. Diane Kruger is a lucky lady. :)
